Do you have a healthy spine?
Here are some simple things you can look
for to find out if your spine is healthy.
15 Warning Signs of an Unhealthy Spine
1. YOUR HEELS ON YOUR SHOES WEAR OUT UNEVENLY.
This can be due to leg length being uneven or stress along the
length of the spine.
2. TROUBLE TAKING A SATISFYING DEEP BREATH. Breathing, health,
spinal health and energy are all related.
3. A CLICKING JAW. This can be caused by either a neck and or
a TMJ problem.
4. YOU "CRACK" YOUR NECK, BACK, OR OTHER JOINTS A LOT.
This can be caused by areas of your spine that are fixated, locked,
or jammed.
5. TROUBLE TWISTING OR TURNING YOUR HEAD OR HIPS TO EITHER SIDE
EASILY AND EQUALLY. Joint Arthritis and or reduced range of motion.
6. YOU ARE TIRED OFTEN. An unbalanced/unhealthy spine can drain
your energy.
7. SUFFER FROM POOR CONCENTRATION. Upper neck problems can affect
brain health.
8. YOU GET SICK ALOT. Spinal problems can affect your neuroendocrine
system which plays an important role in your resistance to disease
and your ability to fight infection. Research has shown that
specific adjustments can boost your immune system.
9. YOUR FOOT OR FEET FLARE OUT WHEN STANDING OR WALKING. This
test is pretty easy as long as you don't cheat ;). Simply look
at your feet when standing and aslo while you walk. Do they point
forward, or does one foot appear to flare outward or inward?
Do both? Foot flare may be a sign of a problem in the lower back,
Sacro Iliac, or hip area. This can also be caused by meningeal
stress in the upper neck or base of the brain.
10. ONE LEG LOOKS SHORTER THAN THE OTHER. To check this. Keep
your shoes on, and lie down. Have a person stand behind you,
look down at your feet, and have them gently push your heels
toward your head. Compare the heels and see if they are level.
One foot may appear anywhere from 1/8" up to 1" shorter
than the other. This indicates either a Hip, Sacro-Iliac, or
Low Back problem is present.
11. YOU HAVE POOR POSTURE. Stand on two bathroom scales (same
spot on each scale with your feet). The weight distribution should
be about the same over each foot (each scale should be equal
in weight). If it is not, that's a good sign that your spine,
hips or head are off-center.
12. YOU HAVE HEADACHES, BACK ACHES, SORE OR TENDER SPOTS IN MUSCLES
OR JOINTS. These are the most common sign of spine problems.
13. YOU HAVE A CONSTANT, STRESSFUL FEELING AND TENSION PARTICULARLY
IN YOUR MUSCLES AND JOINTS. Muscles are affected by our spinal
joints not moving properly.
14. YOU FEEL STIFFNESS IN YOUR BACK AND NECK. Stiffness may be
a sign of spinal joint/disc damage.
15. YOU JUST DON'T FEEL RIGHT OR YOU ARE JUST IN POOR HEALTH.
Having an unhealthy spine can affect your overall health. The
nerves that leave your spine go to your muscles, organs (ex.
heart, lungs, liver, bowels etc
), and joints.
If you answered yes to any of the above, we
can help!

Basing your health on symptoms especially
pain, can lead to more chronic and serious disease states. That's
why I recommend to those focusing on better health or have had
spinal problems in the past to consider getting their spines
checked every 1-4 months. To find the unhealthy area's in your
spine, before it becomes a problem and correcting them. The frequency
of when or how often to come in depends on how much spinal changes
have already occurred and what stress you put on your spine on
a daily bases. |
